Terms of Service

The service

PetPass provides public pet profiles, QR pet tags, owner dashboards, and a private lost-and-found relay that connects a finder to an owner without exposing personal contact details unless the owner chooses to share them. Features and availability may change.

Accounts

Provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and take responsibility for activity under your account. You must be of legal age to form a contract in your jurisdiction.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the relay to harass, threaten, defraud, or harm anyone.
• Do not scan, claim, or interfere with tags you do not own or have permission to use.
• Do not attempt to deanonymize finders or owners, or circumvent contact-reveal controls.
• Do not probe, overload, or abuse the service (including evading rate limits) or upload unlawful content.

Tags, claiming, and transfers

Tags are activated and linked to a pet through a claim flow using a tag token and activation PIN — keep these private. Ownership transfers and deceased-pet tag releases are handled per in-product flows and support tickets; a released tag does not grant access to a prior owner's pet profile. Hard revocation and replacement may require a new tag purchase.

The relay and content

Relay messages pass through our systems to enable private communication. You retain ownership of content you submit and grant us a limited license to host and process it to operate the service. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of content you submit.

Geolocation

Scanning a tag may share scan context with the owner, including scan time, approximate location, and device/browser context. Sharing precise found-pet location is optional and prompted. By choosing to share precise location, you consent to it being transmitted to the owner and retained per the Privacy Policy.

Billing and subscriptions

Paid tiers and tag purchases are billed through our payment processor. Subscriptions renew per the interval you select until cancelled; manage or cancel billing from the customer portal. If a subscription lapses, owner write access may be gated while public profile and finder relay flows remain available. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that a lost pet will be recovered or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PetPass disclaims warranties not expressly stated and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of or harm to any animal.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations or to comply with law. Some provisions survive termination.

Changes & contact
